“Shifa 2 campaign” continues its efforts in Aleppo province

Aleppo, SANA – With participation of a group of international experts, the “Shifa 2” academic campaign implemented an advanced scientific day in neurosurgery in Aleppo province, seeking to transfer the latest global technologies to Syrian surgeons.

In addition to academic giving, “Shifa 2” provided field services, which included supporting Daraa hospitals through 21 abdominal and chest operations, 18 orthopedic surgeries, 4 vascular operations, managing 220 emergency cases, in addition to supplying medical supplies.

The campaign also performed 15 complex neurosurgical surgeries in Aleppo and Idleb province, 159 cardiac catheterizations (including 3 pediatric and complex cases), 25 open-heart surgeries, 12 vascular surgeries in Hama, and 10 gynecological surgeries in Deir Ezzor. It also provided 2,500 multidisciplinary medical consultations, with the cost of heart surgeries alone exceeding $310,000, provided free of charge to patients.

With the efforts of more than 200 doctors and volunteers, the campaign continues its humanitarian journey until August 23 under the slogan “Hand in Hand… for Syria,” embodying the integration of academic giving and field services amidst difficult circumstances.
