A delegation from the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), accompanied by humanitarian partners and local administration officials, visited on Wednesday Maarrat al‑Numan to review ongoing home‑rehabilitation projects for families affected by destruction.
The delegation, representing UNHCR offices in Damascus and Aleppo, inspected homes recently restored with UNHCR support, part of efforts to improve living conditions for displaced families and vulnerable communities.
In Telmenes, the team evaluated completed shelter projects and discussed plans for future initiatives in 2026, including additional grants and funding to strengthen livelihoods.
Bilal Makhzoum, the relations officer in the Maaret al-Numan district administration, said that the visit was crucial for refining procedures and ensuring better services for beneficiaries.
The mission forms part of a series of international assessments aimed at identifying humanitarian priorities and developing projects to support recovery and stability in the region.
