Damascus, Sept. 23 (SANA) Syria has opened applications for more than 18,000 education jobs in Damascus Countryside, Aleppo and Daraa, in a recruitment drive aimed at addressing staffing shortages in schools, the Ministry of Administrative Development said Wednesday.
University and institute graduates can apply online until Oct. 7, with priority given to university graduates.
Applicants must hold qualifications relevant to the available positions and be registered in the governorate where they are applying. Candidates generally cannot already hold public-sector jobs, although current and former substitute teachers at the Education Ministry are eligible.
If applications exceed the number of vacancies, candidates will be ranked electronically according to qualifications, academic performance, professional experience, skills and age.
Shortlisted applicants will then undergo tests and interviews before final selections are made.
