Damascus, June 9 (SANA) President Ahmad al-Sharaa issued Decree No. 87 of 2026 on Tuesday, granting an exceptional supplementary exam session for the General Secondary Education Certificate (scientific section) to students participating in international Olympiads this year.
The decree applies to students participating in Syrian national teams representing the Syrian Arab Republic in international Olympiads, including physics, chemistry, mathematics, and biology, as well as the International Debate Olympiad and the International Nuclear Science Olympiad.
The move aims to support Syrian distinguished students and ensure their academic opportunities are not affected by their participation in international competitions, in line with efforts to promote scientific excellence and national representation.
