Damascus, March 29 (SANA) The Syrian Ministry of Education is moving forward with its plan to modernize school facilities by supplying various provinces with new desks. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to secure the essential requirements for the national educational process and ensure schools are fully equipped for students.
Hamza Hourieh, Head of the Media Department at the Ministry, told SANA on Sunday that the first batch of 24,000 desks has been distributed among several regional education directorates.
The allocation included 7,200 seats for Hama, 4,200 for Homs, 3,600 for Idlib, and 3,000 for Aleppo, while the provinces of Hasakah, Deir Ezzor, and Raqqa received 2,000 seats each.
Hourieh noted that subsequent batches would follow to meet the remaining needs across various regions.
This distribution follows a previous announcement on March 17 regarding the transfer of an additional 10,000 school seats to Deir Ezzor, Raqqa, Hasakah, and Aleppo, supported by the UAE.
These combined efforts reflect the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to bolstering the education sector, enhancing school readiness, and maintaining a stable environment for students throughout the country.
