Hasakah, Jan. 28 (SANA) The educational process has resumed in al-Shaddadi area of Syria’s northeastern Hasakah province after a forced suspension that lasted for more than ten years, the Syrian Teachers’ Union announced on Tuesday.
In a statement received by SANA, the Union said that teachers and students have returned to regular classes at schools within al-Shaddadi educational complex, following the government’s restoration of control from SDF and ensuring security and stability in the area.
The statement added that the reopening of schools included the resumption of teaching the national Syrian curriculum under the supervision of qualified educational staff, marking the return of educational institutions to their normal role within the local community.
In a related development, the Executive Office of the Syrian Teachers’ Union announced on January 21 the resumption of activities of its branch in Raqqa Governorate, operating from the city of Raqqa, as part of efforts to restore institutional and professional work following the liberation of the province.
In recent days, units of the Syrian Arab Army have been deployed in areas of Raqqa and Deir Ezzor provinces, as well as parts of Hasakah countryside, after expelling PKK terrorist militias, with the aim of securing these areas, restoring state authority, and facilitating the return of state institutions.
