14,000 tons of Syrian Phosphate loaded for export via Tartous Port

Tartous, SANA–Operations began Tuesday at Tartous Port to load a new shipment of Syrian phosphate destined for export to Egypt.

Mazen Alloush, Director of Public Relations at the General Authority for Land and sea Ports, told SANA that the shipment amounts to approximately 14,000 tons and will be exported to Egypt in the coming days. He noted that since the fall of the defunct regime, a total of 180,000 tons of phosphate have been exported.

Alloush added that this vessel is the tenth of its kind to be loaded with Syrian phosphate and exported through Tartous Port since the country’s liberation, underscoring the recovery of the export sector and the renewed role of Syrian ports as active hubs in regional trade.

It is worth noting that the phosphate is extracted from mines in the Homs countryside and transported to Tartous Port for preparation and export procedures, coordinated by the General Authority for Land and sea Ports and other relevant entities.
