Trading Days increase to five at Damascus Securities Exchange

Trading Days increase to five at Damascus Securities Exchange

Damascus, SANA- Minister of Finance, Mohammad Yasser Barnieh confirmed that efforts are underway to develop the Damascus Securities Exchange through a series of measures, including increasing the number of trading days from three to five per week starting in July.

In a post on the LinkedIn platform, Minister Barnieh announced that a general assembly meeting for the exchange is scheduled for September to elect a new board of directors.

He added that, in collaboration with the new board, the Capital Market Authority, and specialized experts, a comprehensive development plan will be launched. This plan aims to expand the supply side of securities and create favorable conditions for the listing of more family-owned businesses, private universities, and other companies and institutions.

The minister also noted that the plan includes the introduction of new financial and investment tools and services to stimulate demand.
