Damascus, Sept. 29 (SANA) Syria will allow foreign vehicle, machinery and tire companies to register non-exclusive agencies and open branches or offices in the country, the Ministry of Economy and Industry said Tuesday.
The companies must register with the Foreign Companies Branches and Agencies Department at the General Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in accordance with existing regulations, the ministry said in a decision published on Telegram.
The ministry did not give a timetable for registrations to begin.
In September 2025, the ministry transferred the department responsible for foreign company branches and agencies from its foreign trade directorate to the General Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Damascus. It said the move was intended to streamline administration and strengthen oversight of foreign companies operating in Syria.
