ALEPPO, July 1 (SANA) Aleppo International Airport on Wednesday welcomed the inaugural DAN Airlines flight from the Romanian capital, Bucharest, marking the launch of the carrier’s scheduled service to the northern Syrian city.
Mustafa Khairallah, head of the Media Department at the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport, told SANA that the airline’s expansion to Aleppo comes one year after it began operating flights to Damascus International Airport.
Khairallah said the launch of regular Bucharest–Aleppo flights reflects the airline’s continued expansion in Syria and serves as a clear indicator of growing confidence among European carriers in the country’s civil aviation sector.
He added that the development also reflects progress in upgrading airport infrastructure and enhancing operational readiness.
Khairallah affirmed that the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport will continue its efforts to open additional international destinations and attract more airlines to operate services to Syria.
