Syrian delegation discusses energy investment with Syrian-American business council - SANA

Washington, June 10 (SANA) A Syrian delegation headed by Minister of Energy Mohammad al-Bashir held talks on Wednesday with the Syrian-American Business Council in Washington aimed at strengthening economic cooperation and exploring investment opportunities in the energy sector.

The meeting brought together representatives of companies and business leaders to discuss prospects for cooperation and partnership in support of the development of Syria’s energy sector.

During the discussions, the two sides reviewed the current state of the energy sector in Syria, as well as ongoing projects aimed at upgrading infrastructure and improving production efficiency. They also discussed investment opportunities and potential partnerships with the private sector in the fields of oil, gas and renewable energy.

The meeting featured extensive discussions on mechanisms for enhancing cooperation between government institutions and the private sector and creating an attractive investment environment capable of drawing quality projects that support the stability and development of the energy sector.

Earlier on Monday, al-Bashir met with U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright – on the sidelines of the Global Energy Forum 2026 -to discuss bilateral cooperation and investment opportunities for American companies in Syria’s energy and infrastructure sectors.
