Washington, June.9 (SANA) Syrian Minister of Energy Mohammad al-Bashir held talks in Washington with Jarrod Agen, Executive Director of the council responsible for coordinating energy policies and enhancing energy production and supply security, during which they discussed prospects for expanding partnerships and investments in the oil, gas, electricity and renewable energy sectors.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Energy via its Telegram channel on Tuesday, the two sides reviewed challenges facing the energy sector and explored ways to strengthen energy supply security and support infrastructure projects related to the sector.
The discussions also included an exchange of views on regional and international developments in energy markets, as well as a review of opportunities for future cooperation and investment.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Global Energy Forum, hosted in Washington on June 9–10, with the participation of government officials, business leaders and international experts to discuss energy security, the energy transition and future investment opportunities.
The talks followed a meeting held a day earlier between Minister al-Bashir and U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, during which they discussed bilateral cooperation in the energy sector and investment opportunities available to American companies in Syria’s energy and infrastructure projects.
