Gold prices edge up in Syrian market, 21-karat gram rises 50 Syrian Pounds

Gold prices edge up in Syrian market, 21-karat gram rises 50 Syrian Pounds

Damascus, May 11 (SANA) Gold prices in Syria rose slightly on Monday, with the price of 21-karat gold increasing by 50 Syrian pounds compared with the previous day, according to official data.

The General Authority for the Management of Precious Metals said the price of one gram of 21-karat gold stood at 17,600 Syrian pounds for selling and 17,300 Syrian pounds for buying.

The price of 18-karat gold reached 15,100 Syrian pounds for selling and 14,800 liras for buying.

In global markets, the price of an ounce of gold was recorded at $4,669, according to the bulletin.

The authority, which oversees gold pricing and regulates the sector through licensed associations across Syrian provinces, was established to develop the precious metals industry and strengthen its role in the national economy within an administratively and financially independent framework.
