Damascus, July 30 (SANA) Minister of Economy and Industry, Nidal al-Shaar, said on Thursday that the government’s decision to reduce the price of industrial fuel oil reflects its commitment to supporting manufacturers and creating a more favorable environment for production and investment.

In a statement, al-Shaar said the decision lowers the price of fuel oil allocated to the productive sector from $475 to $400 per ton, easing operating costs for industrial facilities and enhancing their capacity to increase production and expand operations.

He said the government’s contribution to reducing energy costs represents direct support for the industrial sector by lowering production costs, boosting the competitiveness of domestic products, encouraging investment, and improving access to local and international markets.

Al-Shaar said the measure reflects the government’s approach of coordinating economic policies across ministries to support productive sectors and create a more favorable environment for production and investment, contributing to faster economic recovery.
