Damacs, May 10 (SANA) Gold prices in the Syrian market remained stable on Saturday, with 21-karat gold holding at the same level recorded on Thursday.
According to the latest bulletin issued by the Syrian General Authority for Precious Metals, the selling price of 21-karat gold was set at 17,550 Syrian pounds in the new currency, while the buying price stood at 17,250 pounds.
The authority also set the selling price of 18-karat gold at 15,050 Syrian pounds, with the buying price fixed at 14,750 pounds.
On international markets, gold traded at around $4,714 per ounce on Saturday.
The Syrian General Authority for Precious Metals oversees the regulation and development of the country’s gold and precious metals sector, including supervision of local pricing mechanisms in coordination with goldsmith associations across Syrian provinces.
