Riyadh/Mecca, Sept. 15 (SANA) The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Muslim World League on Tuesday strongly condemned renewed Houthi attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, expressing full solidarity with the Kingdom and its efforts to protect its sovereignty, territorial integrity and security.
GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi condemned the repeated targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia by ballistic missiles and drones, describing the attacks as a violation of international law.
In a statement on the social media platform X, Albudaiwi said the attacks pose a direct threat to Saudi Arabia’s security and stability and the safety of citizens and residents.
Meanwhile, Muslim World League Secretary-General Mohammed al-Issa denounced continued Houthi attacks against the Kingdom, including strikes targeting Khamis Mushait, Abha and Taif with ballistic missiles and drones.
Al-Issa said the attacks, which caused civilian injuries, violate international and humanitarian norms.
Earlier, Saudi-led coalition spokesman Brig. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki said Houthi forces had launched missile and drone attacks against civilian areas in Khamis Mushait, Abha and Taif, causing minor to moderate injuries to 13 civilians and damage to several homes and two vehicles.
