Damascus, March 17 (SANA) The Syrian Ministry of Justice said in a statement on Tuesday that it had received the final report issued by a specialized investigation committee into the events in Sweida.
The ministry said the committee was formed to investigate the incidents, determine their circumstances, and ensure accountability in line with the state’s commitment to justice and the rule of law. It added that the committee was provided with the necessary conditions to work independently and professionally, including collecting testimonies and conducting inquiries.
The final report, containing findings, conclusions and recommendations, was submitted to the ministry, which confirmed it will begin reviewing it and take the necessary legal measures, including referring cases to the competent public prosecution.
it added that the report will be submitted to the President al-Sharaa and that its recommendations will be followed up in coordination with relevant authorities to ensure justice and redress for those affected.
The statement said the process aims to enhance transparency, strengthen trust in state institutions and ensure accountability, describing the report as an important step in safeguarding citizens’ rights and advancing the rule of law.
The Syrian Ministry of Justice formed the committee on July 31, 2025, to investigate the unfortunate events in Sweida.
