The agreement was signed in Tashkent by the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce and Uzbekistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It provides for the organization of joint business forums and support for companies participating in trade fairs. The memorandum also covers cooperation in commercial arbitration and support for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Officials from both sides said the deal marks a step toward deepening economic partnership and creating new opportunities for trade and investment.

Earlier in the day, Alaa al-Ali, head of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, and Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Mohammad Yaseen Hourieh met with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, to discuss expanding bilateral economic ties.
