Syria, Germany Review Ways to Boost Business Cooperation

Damascus, Feb.1 (SANA) President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, Alaa al-Ali, reviewed with the President of the Syrian–German Business Council, Walid Sahari, ways to promote cooperation and economic relations between Syria and Germany.

During the meeting, held on Sunday at the Federation’s headquarters in Damascus, the two sides discussed the role of business councils in expanding areas of joint cooperation. They also reviewed mechanisms for coordination with other business councils to serve shared economic objectives and open new avenues for cooperation across various economic sectors.

Al-Ali stressed the importance of strengthening continuous communication and working in a team spirit, highlighting the need to benefit from German expertise in education, training, energy, and other vital sectors.

Both sides also reiterated the necessity of translating the ideas raised during the meeting into practical, implementable steps, and establishing a clear follow-up mechanism to ensure the achievement of the desired results.

Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal al-Shaar issued a decision on January 8 to establish the Syrian–German Business Council, in a step aimed at strengthening economic cooperation ties between the Syrian Arab Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany.
