Speaking to SANA, Faraj al-Qashqoush, Deputy Minister of Tourism for Hotels and Quality Affairs, stated that the participation is part of a strategy to reintroduce Syria to the global tourism market through smart marketing, targeted outreach, and modern, sustainable product development.

He underscored that the Syrian pavilion highlights the country’s cultural, historical, and natural assets, promotes tourism routes, investment opportunities, and cooperation prospects, and seeks to build professional partnerships with tour operators and airlines to support the gradual recovery of the tourism sector.

The deputy minister added that the event offers a valuable opportunity to strengthen ties with international and regional tourism organizations, exchange expertise in promotion, digital transformation, and service quality, and advance the ministry’s vision of tourism as a productive sector contributing to economic and social recovery.

The Syrian participation includes official bodies as well as hotel and travel companies, including the Syrian Company for Transport and Tourism, the Syrian Arab Company for Hotels and Tourism, the Ministry’s Directorate of Tourism Marketing and Media, in addition to a number of hotel managers and tourism company executives.

FITUR 2026, held from Jan. 21–25 at IFEMA Madrid, is one of the world’s leading annual tourism fairs, serving as a global stage to showcase destinations, discuss industry priorities, and strengthen public-private cooperation.
