Talks in Riyadh focus on Saudi investment in Syrian tourism sector

Syrian Minister of Tourism Mazen Al-Salhani met on Tuesday with Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud in Riyadh on the sidelines of the 26th General Assembly of the UN World Tourism Organization, where both sides discussed strengthening Saudi participation in Syria’s tourism and hotel sectors.

According to a statement released by the ministry, the meeting addressed future cooperation prospects in the Syrian tourism sector and ways to enhance Saudi investment in hotels and tourism projects across Syria.

The two sides also discussed mechanisms for exchanging expertise in the management and operation of tourism establishments, as well as investment frameworks that could support the recovery and development of the sector.

The Ministry of Tourism noted that the meeting comes within the framework of ongoing Syrian efforts to encourage Arab and international companies to participate in rebuilding and revitalizing Syria’s tourism infrastructure.
