Damascus, Jan.20 (SANA) Minister of Information Hamza al-Mustafa discussed ways to enhance media cooperation between Syria and Turkey during a telephone call with Professor Burhanettin Duran, head of the Communications Directorate at the Turkish Presidency.
Duran reiterated Turkey’s principled position in support of Syria’s unity, land and people, stressing the importance of strengthening joint cooperation in the media sector, particularly in confronting organized campaigns of rumors, false information and media disinformation.
He also praised Syrian media efforts in conveying an accurate picture and facilitating the work of news agencies and media institutions.
For his part, al-Mustafa expressed Syria’s appreciation for Turkey’s stance in support of the Syrian people and their national choices, affirming that Syrian policy is based on three fundamental pillars: one country, one government and one army.
Al-Mustafa noted that the state has consistently pursued political and negotiated solutions to address the crises left by the defunct regime, welcoming all joint efforts aimed at countering misleading content and and ensure accurate reporting of events.
He further pointed to the facilities provided by the state to journalists, including unrestricted access to information from its official sources, as well as freedom of movement and field coverage.
