Damascus, April 4 (SANA) – A new art exhibition by Syrian visual artist Majdi al-Zawahri has opened at Manzoul Cultural Space in Damascus, presenting works that explore family roots and human identity through expressive visual narratives.
The exhibition, titled “To My Father and Mother,” is organized in cooperation with the Tafarrud Collective, which supports and empowers visual artists.
Featuring a series of paintings in various sizes, the exhibition reflects emotional themes connected to family and memory. Through his work, al-Zawahri seeks to delve into what he describes as the “essence of the human being,” highlighting the family as a fundamental foundation shaping future generations.
Al-Zawahri said the exhibition aims to emphasize the importance of restoring family values as a cornerstone of psychological and social development, noting that the title carries both personal and universal significance, symbolizing emotional continuity between generations.

Born in Homs in 1983, al-Zawahri works as an independent artist and has previously presented several exhibitions in Syria and abroad, including “Blue, Black, Red” and “Dreams and Nightmares” in Beirut, in addition to shows in Homs and Damascus.
The exhibition marks a new stage in the artist’s career, offering a visual dialogue with audiences around themes of belonging, memory, and human connection.
