Damascus, SANA – The Cabinet discussed on Tuesday preparations for Eid al-Adha holiday in terms of monitoring prices in markets, ensuring the readiness of hospitals and health centers, ensuring the availability of drinking water and fuel, and securing transportation between provinces.
Chairing the weekly Cabinet session, Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi instructed the Electricity Ministry to reduce power rationing hours during the holiday, in addition to calling for providing a suitable environment for adopting alternative energy sources.
He also stressed the need to curb corruption in fuel stations.
For his part, Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs, Local Administration Minister Omar Ghalwanji said that there’s gradual improvement in efforts to improve the conditions in Aleppo city.
In turn, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem briefed the Cabinet on the latest political developments, saying that there’s a shift in the international arena regarding the situation in Syria in terms of supporting a political solution, lauding the firm and deep-rooted positions of friendly countries like Russia, Iran, and BRICS states.
The Cabinet also finalized the procedures for issuing a bill on land transport of goods, and approved the agricultural production plan for 2015/2016.
