Russia, Iran discuss developments in Syria and Iraq

Moscow, SANA – Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikhail Bogdanov, discussed with Iran’s Assistant Foreign Minister, Hussein Amir Abdullahian, the situation in the Middle East and events in Syria and Iraq.

Bogdanov said the situation in the region is developing rapidly and it requires intensive discussions, according to Itar Tass news agency.

For his part, Abdullahian pointed out that Moscow and Tehran’s policy towards the crisis in Syria are on the right track, adding that some regional countries are offering support to the extremist takfirists.
