Tehran, SANA-Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hussein Amir Abdullahian affirmed Tuesday that the solution to the crisis in Syria is only political.
Abdullahian discussed at a telephone call with UN Special Envoy to Syria Staffan di Mistura the latest developments in Syria, with the two sides affirming the need for reaching political solutions to the crisis in the country.
Di Mistura, for his part, described negotiations and consultations run in Geneva with different Syrian sides and envoys of countries, including the Iranian Ambassador, as positive and constructive.
Di Mistura is expected to visit Tehran soon to hold extra consultations.
