Planting around 1,800 hectares with potato seeds for the spring season in Homs

Homs, SANA-The area planted with potato seeds for the current spring season across various regions of Homs Governorate has reached approximately 1,800 hectares, out of the total planned area of 2,391 hectares, following the completion of the planting process.

Engineer Haidar Sarhan, Head of the Agricultural Affairs Department at the Homs Agriculture Directorate, explained in a statement to SANA that the planted areas are distributed primarily in al-Qusayr with more than 800 hectares, in the villages of the Eastern Center with about 510 hectares, and in al-Rastan exceeding 300 hectares.

Meanwhile, the planted area in Talkalakh reached 123 hectares, while the remaining areas were in al-Mukharram and the Western Center.

The quantities of imported potato seeds sold to farmers through the Seed Multiplication Branch in Homs amounted to 653 tons of varieties, in addition to quantities imported through the private sector.
