Damascus, SANA- Syndicate of Teachers honored in a festivity Sunday an Arab teachers delegation visiting Syria on the occasion of Arab Teachers Day.
A delegation from Arab Teachers Union (ATU), including teachers representative from Yemen, Iraq, Egypt, Tunisia, Palestine and Lebanon, is currently visiting Syria to celebrate Arab teachers day with their Syria fellow colleagues and express solidarity with them.
Faraj Abdulla Al-Murtada, ATU Secretary General said during the festivity that the visit of the Arab teachers is to express solidarity with Syrian people, army and leadership in the war they are fighting terrorism pointing out the responsibility of teachers in qualifying the Arab generations in defending their homeland and territorial integrity.
For his part, Education minister, Hazwan al-Wez expressed proud of Syrian teachers’ taking part in defending their homeland against Takfiri thoughts since the beginning of the crisis and in boosting values of loyalty to homeland.
Misister al-Wez pointed out that the destruction of archeological sites and the Arab blood, particularly the Syrian and Iraqi ones, being shed during the past few years is an indication of the gap between teaching and education methods and techniques and proves that the Arab education curriculums did not meet the standards of an educated generation being liberated from false thoughts.
Head of Syria’s Syndicate of Teachers Nayef al-Hariri highlighted the role played by teachers in liberating the generations from ignorance and retardation pointing the necessity of facing all who try to routine love, justice and peace.
