Damascus, SANA- Ministers of Health, Social Affairs and Water Resources discussed ways to coordinate efforts for preserving public health in society and the necessary measures for preventing communicable and infectious diseases amid incessant terrorist attacks against infrastructure, particularly the health sector.
Health Minister Nizar Yazigi underlined, during a meeting held at the Health Ministry, the importance of enhancing cooperation and coordination between all governmental and civil sectors for enshrining citizens’ right to a healthy life especially under the current circumstances.
Yazigi stressed that health institutions are ready to offer all medical, diagnostic, laboratory, and therapeutic services for citizens and providing necessary drugs for treating ill people.
The minister also pointed out the close correlation between health and water sectors in preserving public health and protecting citizens from diseases.
Social Affairs Minister Kinda al-Shammat highlighted the Ministry’s interest to back up
national efforts in preserving the health of citizens, pointing out the importance of enhancing social initiatives for getting across health messages to citizens in line with the Health Ministry’s strategies and instructions.
For his part, Water Resources Minister Kamal al- Sheikha said water provided for citizens is rigorously analyzed to ensure the citizens’ safety, adding that Ministry continues to exert efforts for keeping water clean.
