Damascus, SANA – Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi on Monday met members of the Complaints and Petitions Committee at the People’s Assembly, affirming to them the need for full cooperation and coordination between the legislative and executive authorities to issue legislations that realize public interest.
Al-Halaqi said that the government is committed to staying in touch with society to help alleviate the effects of the economic war imposed upon the Syrian people and to deal with various issues that affect people’s daily lives.
He reviewed some of the steps taken by the government to improve the performance of various services and development sectors and providing people’s needs, underlining the challenges facing the government in light of the limited resources available to it and the economic sanctions imposed on Syria.
Talks during the meeting discussed methods of controlling market prices, resolving the status of detainees and dealing with the issue of abductees, the need to issue the new repossession law, and establishing an industrial zone and duty-free zone in the coastal region.
