Moscow, SANA – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov took a swipe at the US over the way it deals with the situation in Syria.
“For how long will the US’s way of dealing with Syria remain subject to the furthest limits of ideology?” Lavrov wondered in his address to the Assembly of the Foreign and Defense Policy Council in Moscow on Saturday.
He also criticized the US for not seeking a Security Council mandate for its military operations against the terrorist organization of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
“Of course it is necessary to go to the Security Council because Syria is a sovereign state and a member of the UN and has not been discharged by anyone,” Lavrov said.
