Damascus, SANA – The Cabinet on Monday took a series of necessary and precautionary steps to achieve relative stability in the market and provide essential goods at reasonable prices for citizens.
The steps, which were approved during a weekly Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imad Khamis, include increasing oversight, combating monopolies, and confiscating smuggled and cornered goods to sell them at Syrian Trading retail outlets.
The Cabinet approved the executive mechanism for granting employees interest-free loans valued at SYP 300,000 distributed over six months at a rate of SYP 50,000 per month and repaid in four years.
The Cabinet also tasked the Economy Ministry and the Foreign Trade Establishment with directly importing essential goods that are not produced locally and providing them to the Syrian Trading company.
