Premier Khamis, Speaker Sabbagh meet Russian parliamentary delegation

Damascus, SANA- Prime Minister Imad Khamis said that the government will provide all necessary facilitations to increase economic cooperation between Syria and Russia.

Khamis remarks came during a meeting held Saturday with the Russian parliamentary delegation visiting Syria, headed by the governor of Khanty-Mansiysk Region, Natalya Komarova.

The premier discussed with the delegation means of strengthening cooperation in various fields including economy, investment, education, training and tourism.

He encouraged the Russian businessmen and investors to participate in the reconstruction stage and launch projects in Syria, pointing out that the government will provide all facilitates to induce a real shift in the economic cooperation through establishing the Syrian-Russian High Joint Committee and increase cooperation between businessmen in both countries.

He clarified that the tripartite US-British-French aggression came in retaliation for the victories achieved by Syria and its allies in the fight against terrorism.

For her part, Komarova congratulated the Syrian people and leadership over victories achieved against terrorism and the restoration of security and stability to the various areas in the country.

Karamova said that the distinguished relationship between the Syria and Russia is promoting peace in the world, pointing out to the need for revitalizing the economic relations between the two countries and increasing the contribution of the private sector in this cooperation.

The Russian delegation also met Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammoudeh Sabbagh, who asserted that the US-British-French aggression is built on false pretenses and is a flagrant violation of international norms and accords and of the freedom and independence of peoples.

Sabbagh said the delegation’s visit serves to strengthen the deep-rooted relations between Syria and Russia, thanking Russia’s leadership, government, and people for their support for Syria.
