Damascus, SANA-The Syrians across the country took to public squares and streets to celebrate a foiled tripartite attack against their country.
The General Command of the Army and Armed Forces announced that a tripartite aggression was carried out at 03:55 a.m. (at local time) by the US, Britain and France through firing 110 missiles towards Syrian targets in Damascus and outside it, adding that the Syrian Air Defense systems confronted, with high competence, the missiles of the aggression and shot down most of them.
In Damascus, locals have witnessed first-hand the Syrian army repelling the aggression, circulating thousands of videotapes of the Syrian air defense blowing off the attacking missiles in scenes reminiscent of October Liberation War when the Syrians ascended rooftops to see the Syrian forces shoot down Israeli warplanes.
In the morning after the attack, Damascus locals have maintained a business-as-usual reaction, joyfully flocking to their daily works with palpable high morals and a thrilling sense of victory.
Damascus residents living in close vicinity to the Umayyad Square rushed to celebrate the win soon after the aggression ended. With interviews with SANA reporters, many expressed overwhelming joy over the recent liberation of Eastern Ghouta from terrorists which they said no aggression can dampen.
In Deir Ezzor and Hasaka in Eastern Syria, the joy of the locals recovering from the ravages of terrorism that has wrought havoc in their cities was no less pronounced, expressing to SANA their pride in the Syrian army’s wins.
SANA’s camera also toured the streets of Aleppo city, interviewing citizens who scoffed at the US empty threats, pledging to remain united in support of the Syrian army against any foreign aggression.
The aggression reflects the US administration’s short-sighted policies and flawed calculation, locals of Lattakia and Tartous interviewed by SANA said, affirming that they are determined to make every sacrifice necessary to defend the homeland.
