Cabinet approves bills amending traffic law and establishing forensic medicine organization

Damascus, SANA – The Cabinet on Tuesday approved a bill on amending the traffic and vehicles law, a bill on establishing a body corporate with financial and administrative independence named the General Organization of Forensic Medicine, and a bill on abolishing rural service for medical practitioners.

During the Cabinet meeting, which was chaired by Prime Minister-designate Wael al-Halaqi, discussed a number of issues related to citizens’ daily concerns, with al-Halaqi reviewing the state of the economy and services during the past week.

Al-Halaqi said that the priorities of the upcoming Cabinet will be focusing on economy, achieving balance economic growth, improving the performance of the banking sector and the Securities Exchange, increasing state treasury income, and increasing foreign currency reserves.

He also called for addressing building infringements and curbing any manipulation of airplane ticket prices for trips from Damascus and Qamishli, in addition to monitoring the performance of the state’s consumer product retail outlets and ensuring that drinking water is provided.
