A new batch of relief and food materials arrives in Qamishli

Hasaka, SANA- A new batch of relief and food materials provided by the World Food Program “WFP” on Sunday arrived in Qamishli Airport through the air bridge of Damascus International Airport.

Head of the WFP Office in Qamishli Afraa Nouh told SANA that the flight 143 included 5 thousands packages of food materials that were delivered to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Nouh indicated that over the past two days other materials were delivered through the flights number 140, 141 and 142 that included 9,005 blankets, ten family tents, 930 packages of food materials, 930 bags of rice, and 558 packages of vegetable oil.

She added that the materials sent through the air bridge are delivered to the offices of the international organizations in Qamishli City which in turn distribute them among the resident and displaced families in different areas in Hasaka Province.

The first flight of the air bridge for sending food and relief materials from Damascus to Hasaka province arrived in Qamishli last July.
