Patriarch Aphram II calls on Biden to remove coercive measures imposed on Syria

Damascus,SANA-Patriarch Mar Aghnatius Aphram II of Antioch and All the East for Syriac Orthodex called on US president to remove the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria which target the livelihood of the Syrian people and mount suffering in light of the spread of corona virus.

” The immediate removal of those sanctions became an urgent matter in light of the spread of corona epidemic and the repercussions left by the illegitimate measures on the health sector,” the Patriarch and a number of heads of churches send in a letter addressed to Biden who took office lately.

The letter added that those punitive and illegal measures escalate the suffering of the Syrians.
