The Syrian Arab Red Crescent and the Turkish Red Crescent signed three cooperation agreements Thursday in Ankara to strengthen humanitarian partnership and support vulnerable populations.
According to SARC’s official Telegram channel, the agreements were concluded during a visit by a Syrian delegation to Turkey. The visit included reviewing the Turkish Red Crescent’s experience in sustaining humanitarian programs and activities, as well as meetings with other national Red Cross and Red Crescent societies operating in Turkey, which provide aid to families most affected by crises.
SARC President Hazem Bakleh expressed gratitude to the Turkish Red Crescent for its efforts in alleviating humanitarian suffering and highlighted the need to rehabilitate infrastructure in areas of return.
Turkish Red Crescent President Fatma Meriç Yılmaz said that providing assistance to the Syrian people is a humanitarian duty, and emphasized ongoing collaboration with SARC to strengthen its operational capacity in the humanitarian field.
