Civil defense: Firemen contain several fires in Qastal Maaf, Lattakia

Lattakia, SANA- Syrian Civil Defense stated that the fire- men were able last night to contain several fires on Qastal Maaf-Kasab road in Lattakia countryside despite the significant difficulties facing firefighting operations for the tenth consecutive day.

The Civil Defense said on its Telegram channel that” intensive efforts are being made by field firefighting teams to combat the fires, limit their spread, and cool the hotspots that have been extinguished in the areas of Jabal al-Nisr, Burj Zahia, al-Baraka, and Sheikh Hassan’’.

The civil defense pointed out that ‘’the process of isolating the hotspots in the regions is still ongoing, with fire lines being opened in the forests to enable access, while aircraft continue to support extinguishing operations and prevent spread of the fires’’.
