Amman, SANA- The Minister of Energy, Eng. Mohammad Al-Bashir met Wednesday, with the Jordanian Ministers of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, and Water and Irrigation, Engineer Raed Abu Soud, in the Jordanian capital, Amman.
They discussed mechanisms to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of electrical interconnection and water.
The meeting between al-Bashir and al-Kharabsheh addressed increasing the quantities of natural gas supplied from Jordan to Syria, forming joint technical committees to study water agreements, including the Yarmouk Basin Agreement, in addition to announcing a World Bank grant to rehabilitate the electrical interconnection line between the two countries.
During his meeting with Minister Abu Soud, minister al-Bashir also discussed issues related to the water sector and the common challenges facing Syria and Jordan, where both sides affirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in this field.
