Safadi: Syria is moving in the right direction toward rebuilding a free and sovereign n

Amman, SANA– Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi reaffirmed Tuesday his country’s support for Syria, emphasizing that Syria’s success in achieving security and stability “represents a success for the entire region.”

In a televised statement broadcast and reported by the Jordanian al-Mamlaka website, Safadi stated: “Syria is moving in the right direction toward rebuilding a free, sovereign, and independent homeland that safeguards the rights of all its people.”

The Jordanian Foreign Minister described the current relationship between Jordan and Syria as being “at its best.”

He added, “The Syrian people deserve a dignified, secure, and free life. They are capable of rebuilding their homeland and possess significant energy and potential. The Syrian government is moving forward with the reconstruction process, and Jordan fully supports this effort.”

Safadi stressed Jordan’s solidarity with Syria in confronting the threat of terrorism, which he said “we all condemn.” He highlighted that Jordan goes beyond condemnation by actively cooperating with Syria in combating terrorism.

He also referred to Jordan’s full cooperation with Syria in combating drug and arms smuggling, stating, “Syria’s security and stability are in our interest. The security of southern Syria is also the security of Jordan—it is our strategic depth.”
