Syrian Ministry of Local Administration inspect data of employees dismissed due to the revolution to reinstate them

Damascus, SANA-The Syrian Ministry of Local Administration and Environment has begun inspecting the records of employees who were previously dismissed from their positions due to the revolution and have applied for reinstatement.

In a statement to SANA, the Ministry’s Media Office confirmed that the verification process is currently underway to ensure the accuracy of applicants’ information. Once completed, the names of those accepted will be announced. The evaluation process is conducted by sorting files according to governorates, with each governorate responsible for reviewing and validating its respective cases.

Upon completion, the files are returned to the Directorate of Administrative Development at the Ministry’s central administration, including the lists of accepted and rejected candidates, along with the reasons for rejection. After final verification, the names of those approved will be published on the Ministry’s official platforms and those of affiliated institutions, allowing individuals to visit designated centers by governorate to begin reinstatement procedures.

The Media Office stated that the primary criteria for approval are that the dismissal must have been directly linked to revolution-related circumstances, in addition to the individual’s qualifications and experience in the relevant field.

Regarding the placement of reinstated employees, the Media Office noted that it will be based on current staffing needs, with consideration given to the employee’s place of residence and proximity to the workplace. It added that returning employees may not necessarily resume their former job titles.

The Media Office emphasized that the return of these individuals will enhance institutional performance by utilizing their accumulated experience—whether from previous roles or through external expertise gained during displacement abroad. Notably, a segment of applicants includes expatriates who have continued working in the same field in their host countries.

It is worth mentioning that at the end of May, the Ministry began conducting interviews with dismissed employees who supported the Syrian revolution, as part of its commitment to justice and reevaluation in line with its strategic vision.
