First Group of Syrian Pilgrims arrives via Bab al-Salama Border Crossing with Turkey

Damascus, SANA-The first group of Syrian pilgrims arrived on Monday through Bab al-Salama border crossing with Turkey, following the adoption of an emergency plan to alter their return route by air due to the closure of regional airspace caused by recent events.

According to a statement issued by The General Authority for Land and Sea Ports on its Telegram channel, the pilgrims were transported from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Gaziantep Airport in Turkey, then transported by bus to Bab al-Salama border crossing. A total of 500 pilgrims arrived, divided into two groups.

Reception ceremonies were held in the presence of the Director of Bab al-Salama crossing and the Deputy Head of the General Authority for the crossing, Qutaiba Naji. All staff were mobilized to ensure smooth entry procedures and provide all necessary arrangements to guarantee the comfort and safety of the pilgrims during their passage.

A second group of Syrian pilgrims is scheduled to arrive tomorrow as part of a coordinated timetable with the relevant authorities, to ensure the safe and orderly return of all pilgrims to their homeland.
