Hama, SANA-The first convoy of pilgrims from the city of Hama set out Thursday for the sacred lands in Saudi Arabia, amid overwhelming emotions as tears of joy flowed from both the travelers and their loved ones bidding them farewell.

Pilgrim Ahmad al-Youssef shared his immense joy, stating, “Today, we embark on a journey to the holy lands that reside in our hearts, with hopes that Syria and its people will experience better days ahead.”

Similarly, pilgrim Talal Ramadan emphasized his prayers during Hajj for a bright future for the nation, wishing its citizens a dignified life after their sacrifices. He expressed gratitude for witnessing a turning point in Syria’s history.

Mohammad al-Faris, the deputy head of the pilgrim group, noted that this marks the first pilgrimage campaign to Mecca, extending his appreciation to the Ministry of Endowments and the Higher Hajj Committee for their dedicated efforts in ensuring the success of the journey.

Al-Faris added, “We pray that God preserves our country and all Muslim nations, granting Syria prosperity, security, and peace.”

In the coming days, additional convoys will follow, departing from Saeed al-Nassan Mosque in Ain al-Louze district.
