Mecca, SANA-The Muslim World League has expressed great appreciation for U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement in Riyadh of fully lifting sanctions imposed by his country on the Syrian Arab Republic. The move came at the request of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

In a statement from the League’s General Secretariat, Secretary-General and Chairman of the Council of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim al-Issa, described the announcement as “a pivotal moment for the Syrian people, reinforcing stability in their country and supporting their path toward a better future.”

Sheikh al-Issa also characterized the decision as “a new triumph for Saudi diplomacy, reaffirming the wisdom of its leadership and its significant influence both in the Islamic world and internationally.” He emphasized that Saudi Arabia has consistently dedicated all its resources and efforts to achieving peace and prosperity.
