Turkish Foreign Ministry: We will continue to provide our unconditional support to Syri

Ankara, SANA- Turkey renewed its call to lift the sanctions imposed on Syria, stressing that it will continue to provide its unconditional support to Syria in many areas it needs in the new phase within the framework of mutual agreements between the two countries.

The Anadolu News Agency quoted sources in the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs as saying Thursday:Syria has entered a new phase with the overthrow of the previous regime, and that the Syrian people are trying to heal the wounds of the conflict that lasted 14 years on the one hand, and on the other hand are implementing a political transition process to determine their future under Syrian leadership.

The sources stressed the importance of supporting the steps taken by the Syrian government to integrate into the regional and international community and its efforts to achieve security, stability, and prosperity in the country.
They noted that the way to rid Syria and the region of the threat of instability is through more support and more communication, including lifting sanctions faced by the country.

Turkey made great efforts to develop communication and mutual understanding between the countries of the region and the Syrian administration in the period following the overthrow of the regime.

The backbone of Turkish policy towards Syria is achieving national reconciliation by protecting the unity and territorial integrity of the country, establishing security and stability in the country by purging it of terrorist elements, and ensuring the reconstruction of Syria, by lifting sanctions, according to the sources.

Preserving the unity and territorial integrity of Syria is a fundamental priority for the new Syrian administration, as is the case for Turkey.

The sources pointed out the importance of protecting the country’s unity within a central administration and granting equal citizenship rights to all components of Syria, as stated in the Constitutional Declaration, indicating that Turkey does not accept any initiative that targets the unity of Syrian territory, affects its sovereignty, allows people outside the central authority to carry weapons in Syria, or guarantees The continuation of terrorist organizations.
