Defense Minister: Engineering teams continue their field work to remove mines

Damascus, SANA- Defense Minister ,Major General Murhaf Abu Qasra said that the Ministry of Defense’s engineering teams are continuing their field work to remove mines and unexploded ordnance from large areas in the Syrian governorates.

“The efforts are proceeding within an organized plan that includes several interconnected phases, including combing and clearing villages and main roads, this will gradually expand to open areas and lands, in preparation for the return of residents and their settlement in a safe environment.” Major General Abu Qasra said.

Minister Abu Qasra added, “Through these efforts, the magnitude of the challenges facing the engineering teams becomes clear. The Syrian Ministry of Defense extends its thanks to the Turkish Ministry of Defense for its ongoing logistical support, which has helped raise the efficiency of these efforts and accelerate their pace.”.
