Homs, SANA-Al-Waleed Spinning Factory in Homs is considered one of the leading industrial factories in producing cotton yarns with high quality specifications.
The factory manager, Ali Shanter, stated to SANA that the factory’s production has amounted to about 20 tons of cotton and blended yarns.
Al-Waleed Factory consists of two sections: the first for producing cotton yarns (100% cotton), and the second for producing blended yarns (cotton + polyester).
Shanter added that the cotton yarn section produces a number of sizes, all of which are characterized by their high quality, free of knots and defects, and are subject to examination in the factory’s laboratories in terms of tensile strength, elongation and hairiness.
He pointed out that the age of the machines negatively affects the production capacity, and spare parts are secured and maintained within the laboratory’s technical workshop.
In turn, the head of the production lines division at the laboratory, Mohammed Wanous, stated that the production process begins from the preparatory drawing stage to the drawing other to reach the required number of the tape for use in the subsequent stages, ending with the final spinning stage.
Head of Laboratory No. 2 at the laboratory, Nareez Gharib, said that the laboratory includes equipment for conducting tests related to the required number of the thread, its elongation, durability, tensile strength, and softness of the filaments.
The laboratory’s production of cotton and blended threads reached about 500 tons last year.
