Syria enhances cybersecurity infrastructure after detecting website vulnerabilities

Damascus, SANA- The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology announced on Friday that the Syrian websites were recently targeted by cyberattack attempts, which were monitored by the National Information Security Center, in cooperation with a group of international Syrian experts in the field of cybersecurity.

The ministry recommended that citizens who are concerned about their data or have received any notifications about the leakage of their information, or have discovered certain vulnerabilities, to contact the technical support center at the National Information Security Center through official channels, not through social media.

It stressed that any attempt to hack government websites or systems under any pretext is an act of sabotage that affects the stability of public services and citizens’ digital security, noting that it is coordinating with the authorities concerned to take legal measures against those responsible.
