Chancellor Scholz of Germany congratulates President al-Sharaa, affirms his country’s s

Damascus, SANA-President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Mr. Ahmad Al-Sharaa, received Friday a phone call from the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

Scholz congratulated President Ahmad al-Sharaa on assuming the presidency of Syria, and expressed his happiness at the liberation of the Syrian people from the criminal regime of al-Assad.

The Chancellor also expressed his country’s support for the measures taken by the new Syrian administration at the popular and political levels in order to preserve civil peace.

For his part, President Ahmad al-Sharaa thanked the Chancellor and Germany’s stances that supported and received Syrian refugees over the past years.

President al-Sharaa spoke about the roadmap adopted by the Syrian State in the transitional phase, national dialogue, and the formation of a comprehensive government, in addition to the persistent efforts to remove economic sanctions, which the Chancellor clearly stated the necessity of removing immediately in order for the Syrian people to recover and to support the humanitarian and economic path alike.

The Chancellor Scholz expressed his country’s support for President al-Sharaa’s measures in managing the talks to complete the unity of Syrian territory, especially in the northeastern region of Syria.

President Al-Sharaa and Scholz shared the security challenges in Syria and the need to work together to maintain security and stability in Syria. They also stressed support for the Syrian political process and the country’s unity, independence, and territorial sovereignty.
